SOLUTION
Lucid first focused on providing masterplanning consultancy, identifying how different options could improve the overall plan.
Lucid then designed and created a fully interactive presentation that was used by the OPDC for public consultation and to attract private investment. This contained an interactive 3D massing model of the entire masterplan. Users could spin around and zoom into the model. By selecting different data layers they could also look at the future rail network and the position of the new station – Old Oak Common. Other layers included new routeways, a new Commercial centre, 25,000 new homes and new green space.
Clicking on hotspots within the model accessed the relevant future CGIs. An explanatory film containing a highly detailed 3D model of this future area of London was also created.
Viewers could appreciate the beneficial impact of the regeneration by flying over the site and diving down into the model to view animated CGIs.
